8th Pay Commission Date:
The 8th Pay Commission is being seriously considered at a time when tens of thousands of government workers are waiting with eager anticipation for a 4% increase in their daily allowance. The Union Government has previously indicated that there would be no 8th Central Pay Commission to increase the pay, benefits, and pensions of government workers and retirees. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary responded in writing that “No” such proposal is currently being considered. Asked whether “it is a truth that Government is planning not to create 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) to revise wages, allowanced, and pension of Central Government employees and pensioners,” Chaudhary responded in the affirmative.
Will the 8th Pay Commission Replace 7CPC?
Despite the lack of official confirmation, it has been widely reported that the government is planning to establish the 8th Pay Commission soon. Rules established by the pay commission are reviewed and maybe changed once every decade for government workers. The same trend occurred in the wake of the 5th, 6th, and 7th Pay Commissions.
8th Pay Commission Implementation Date
The 8th Pay Commission, if rumors are to be accepted, could be introduced in 2024 and put into effect two years later, in 2026. After the Lok Sabha Elections, which are scheduled for May 2024, experts believe that the government can afford to provide such a large bonus to the workforce.
